Right meaning of mindfulness is to live in the moment and whatever emotion is arising within you, you have to witness of it. You need to slow down, pay attention, and watch your thoughts and you have to reflect not react with them. Suppose, if a person is bringing anger and resentment upon us, we have to reply later on may be after few days or few hours but never react with them and we have to observe their emotion without judgment or labelling and gradually you can feel that there is no anger, it gets dissolved.
Mindfulness enhances Performance and Productivity
What happens when a doctor does an operation? He is already there mindfully that is okay but as soon as he moves into the past or future, he is not able to focus on the operation because past memory or thinking about the future is interfering into this moment which can lead to an unsuccessful operation.
Mindfulness reduces stress and enhances mental well-being. It dissolves negative emotion such as jealousy, hate, anger etc. in order to develop a better relationship with mutual respect, high self- esteem, and love between coworkers and management which leads to higher productivity in the organization.
It improves memory, attention, and reduces mind wandering and distraction in order to focus and stay on work. While working, if we feel stress then we need to bring the sensation of awareness of breath at the top of nostril for few seconds which can help us to prioritize our work and manage our time effectively. It brings deeper state of relaxation and calms our mind, which creates productive ideas that help in creativity and innovation.
Mindfulness teaches us that how we have to slow down, pay attention, and watch our thought emotion which is arising within us instead of reaction. Therefore, whatsoever emotion arising within us, you need to witness of them without any reaction.
Attention goes where energy flow
Whatsoever thought frequency you emit, you get pulled towards it and thoughts are things. For example, if you stay focused on positive thoughts finally you get pull towards it because you put attention, energy, and power to it and things happen maybe you have to keep patience and perseverance and remain focused with such kind of thoughts.
Conflict, argument etc. happen because we react to them immediately, therefore, we attract pain and misery in our life. Have you ever observed that why there is mass shooting, violence, rape etc. are happening? It is happening because we keep on reacting instead of reflecting and finally we try to be more revengeful and like attracts like? These acts are just releasing our suppressed negative emotional energy from inside to outside and finally, it explodes and burst out, therefore, we must not suppress any kind of energy inside as well. We are collecting and hiding such kind of energy inside and the more you hide the more it reflects in an aggressive way, therefore, more violence, rape happen. Just, for example, there is no sex education in a country like India, China etc. They hide it but it’s a real part of life and we came through sex and the more you hide the more it reflects in the form of rape.
How can you hide the hormone which is flowing inside us, you cannot because it is the normal physiological process? The more you hide it the more you are suppressing emotion energy and everything is energy and property of energy is neither created nor destroyed in the Universe it remains as it is. The more you suppress the more your mind chatter and too much distraction happens, suppose if a teacher is teaching me in school and I am thinking about something different for example sex or anything else, what would happen? It would affect my productivity level and finally it affects my performance because I am not mindful and there is overflow of useless thoughts in my head when teacher teach me which create much distraction and I cannot be focused at the moment as well and I can react (inner reaction) to these negative emotions from inside in the form of distraction, chattering.
I remember when I was in school, teachers used to teach us in a class but my performance was always worst, because I was not focused and mindful. I used to think about playing football or watching fun movies by living in the past during study hours, end up in bad performance. On the other hand, some of my friends stood better position than me because they were present in the moment while studying.
Whatever you do, just be there with awareness, you can learn mindfulness very easily without any knowledge by just observation with every activity of daily living.
